VoIP Business Phone Features

CALL TRANFER

Call Transfer is used to transfer a call in progress to some other destination. This is a business feature that allows for calls to be tranferred within the organization to the appropriate personnel. Blind transfer and attendant transfer are ways in which calls are transferred.

Attendant/Blind Transfer

The call is answered and simply directed to the destination requested by the caller. In most cases the receptionist would answer and transfer caller to the appropriate department or individual.

How to use blind transfer?

Phones with transfer button :

Answer the phone when a call rings, speak to caller and press the "Transfer" or "Xfer" button. When you hear the dial tone, call the extension or number you wish to transfer the call. Upon hearing the ringing on the other end, hang up your phone and the caller will be connected to the transferred number. Make sure to stay on the line until the ringing is heard to avoid dropping the caller.

Using VoIP ATA:

If you happen to use a regular phone with VoIP ATA such as PAP2T-NA or SPA2102, press "#" key and you will hear Transfer. At this time enter the number or extension you wish to transfer the caller. Upon hearing the ring, simply hang up and have the caller connected.

How to use attendant transfer?

The difference is the reception can announce who is calling along with additional information to the intended party.
